However, at this time there was currently no official word of its discontinuation from Bojangles's social networking team. In November 2022, it was speculated that Southern Shock would be discontinued.

DEW-S-A mixes together Mountain Dew Code Red, White Out, and Voltage for a red, white, and blue concoction. While it was rumored the flavor would be back for summer 2020, the rerelease was pushed and it’s now rolling out for spring 2021. It was officially released in Bojangles restaurants in the United States in June 2020, sold in fountain as a permanent flavor, and its flavor was later revealed to be a Tropical Punch flavor. The patriotic sip combined three flavors in one, which obviously gained the attention of soda lovers. However, the post didn't specify its flavor and label design. Besides, the blue coloring makes sense once you taste it and realize that the primary flavor is blue raspberry. This stuff is one of the very best flavors Mountain Dew has to offer. It announced that it would be a Bojangles exclusive and was planning to roll out on May 11th and expected to be in all Bojangles restaurants by June 26th of that year. Mountain Dew Voltage has an odd blue color that might make you hesitant to buy it.
